Part-time jobs during high school

Are you looking to earn a little extra cash while studying or even just for work experience? Having a part time job can help you develop transferable skills such as customer service and team building. You can also use your part time job to get an introduction to a career or area of interest.

Finding your ideal job:

  1. Where you live and go to school is important – your job should be located around these two locations as it will minimise the time of travel required
  1. Work out the best routine – align your study schedule with your availability for work. The best type of jobs for a high school students is shift work! Don’t exhaust yourself, maybe do one or two days a week.

  1. Local café
  2. Newsagency
  3. Fast food chain – McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks
  4. Supermarket – Coles, Woolworths
  5. Cinema – Events Cinema, Hoyts
  6. Start ups – just send them email seeing if they need another brain! This option, being one of the most exciting, giving you exposure to the business world and having awesome career progression.
